Cobscook Community Learning Center Receives Cash Award From The Federal Home Loan Bank
(LUBEC, ME) July 25, 2008 - Recently, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston made a cash award of $1,000 through its Grants for New England Partnerships (GNP) program to Cobscook Community Learning Center on behalf of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. Under the GNP program, eligible member institutions choose a nonprofit organization to receive the award. Bar Harbor Bank & Trust became eligible for participation in the program for 2008, when it successfully submitted and disbursed a long-term (greater than or equal to three years) Community Development Advance (CDA) application for this year.
In 1994 the GNP program was established by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston to recognize the importance of partnerships between their member institutions and community-based nonprofit organizations in developing successful community investment initiatives. It is because of Cobscook Community Learning Center's important work in the community that Bar Harbor Bank & Trust chose them for this award.
