BAR HARBOR BANK & TRUST ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS

BAR HARBOR, Maine (March 1, 2012) — Joseph M. Murphy, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, along with the Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the following promotions.

Marcia Bender has been promoted from Vice President, Branch Administration to Vice President, Senior Operations Officer.

Ginny MacLeod has been promoted from Personal Banker in Southwest Harbor to Customer Service Manager in the Southwest Harbor office.

Terry Tracy has been promoted from Retail Banking Manager to Assistant Vice President, Retail Banking.

	Marcia Bender, Vice President/Senior Operations Officer, is responsible for overseeing branch operations which includes several departments: Electronic Banking, Account and Transaction Processing, Servicing and Quality Assurance, and Account Reconciliation. Marcia is especially skilled at balancing operational detail and risk management with customer service demands, providing exceptional leadership and creativity in the area of process improvement. Marcia joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in 1980. Over the years she has worked in various departments including Deposit Services, Accounting, Merchant Services, Retail Banking, Branch Administration, and was Manager of the Bar Harbor branch at one point. Active in her local community, Marcia serves on the board of the Neighborhood House, Acadia Fire Football Club and Seal Harbor Cemetery Association. She is a member of the Hattie A. and Fred C. Lynam Trust Scholarship/Grant Committee and serves as the Treasurer of the local Salvation Army chapter. Marcia is a graduate of Northern New England School of Banking as well as Mount Desert Island High School and currently resides in Seal Harbor.
	Ginny MacLeod, Customer Service Manager in the Southwest Harbor branch, oversees the day to day activities of the branch and assists customers with their financial needs, including opening accounts. As appropriate, Ginny refers customers to others within the company for assistance with loans, trusts, investment needs and other services. In addition, Ginny is a guide and resource for this cohesive branch team as they work efficiently to provide beneficial service to customers. She also provides financial education in the community, teaching lessons at the local schools about the value of saving money. Ginny joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in 2005 as a part time Teller. From there she progressed to a full time Teller, then became a Personal Banker, and is now Customer Service Manager. Before her career in banking, Ginny worked in accounting, food service management, professional house cleaning and is a CNA, having been employed at Sonogee Rehabilitation & Living Center in Bar Harbor. A graduate of Machias Memorial High School, Ginny grew up in Jonesboro, Maine but currently resides in Southwest Harbor with her husband, Scott. Together they have two grown children, Ryan and Amanda.
	Terry Tracy, Assistant Vice President of Retail Banking, is responsible for program management and reporting, which includes Bank Secrecy Act compliance, administration of CDARS, and other initiatives. She supports staff bank wide, at the branches and in the back office, providing reports for monitoring and tracking transaction activity to assist with customer and compliance needs. Terry joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in 1992 as a seasonal Teller and progressed to part time, then full time at the Ellsworth branch. In 1998 she transferred to Deposit Operations and became Manager in 2001, being promoted to Retail Banking Manager in 2005. Over the years Terry has earned her General Banking diploma, Bank Operations diploma, and is a Certified Teller. Terry is a graduate of Sumner High School, having grown up in Franklin where she continues to reside with her husband, Gary.
