04/02/2012 Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Announces Beneficiary For Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Bar Harbor, Maine — – Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has chosen the James C. MacLeod Scholarship Fund to be the beneficiary of the 19th Annual David R. Harding Memorial Golf Tournament. The golf tournament will be played on Tuesday, May 22nd at Kebo Valley Golf Course in Bar Harbor. For more information, call Cathy Planchart, at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, 667-0660 x4655.

The proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to a scholarship fund in memory of James C. MacLeod, an avid golfer and a member of the Board of Directors of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for 37 years, as well as a long-term employee; Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, for 15 years. Jim gave so much to the greater MDI community as a business owner, state legislator, member of the Anah Temple Shrine, and board member for many local organizations including the MDI YMCA, Kebo Valley Golf Club, MDI Lions Club, and American Legion’s George Edwin Kirk Post #25 to name a few. Jim was also well-known as a fundraiser for many local organizations, including the MDI Hospital, Jesup Memorial Library, and others. The scholarship will go to a graduating senior from MDI High School who plans to attend a trade/vocational school. Criteria will be based on grades as well as financial need.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust invites the community to help raise funds for the James C. MacLeod Scholarship Fund by participating in the tournament as a sponsor, golfer, or donor.
