"A long time Bar Harbor resident, Jim knew everyone," said Cathy Planchart of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. "Jim was an avid golfer and played in this tournament for many years. In addition, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for 37 years, as well as a long-term employee; Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, for 15 years! Jim gave so much to the greater MDI community as a business owner, state legislator, civic club member, and board member and fundraiser for many local non-profit organizations. This scholarship serves as Jim's legacy to the young people of our community."
