04/23/2012 Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Announces Hole-in-one Sponsors for Harding Golf Tournament on May 22

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust's 19th Annual David R. Harding Memorial Golf Tournament is being played at Kebo on May 22 to benefit the James C. MacLeod Scholarship Fund at MDI High School. Bar Harbor, Maine — – Stanley Scooters and Darling's Chevrolet are each sponsoring a hole-in-one contest at the 19th Annual David R. Harding Memorial Golf Tournament on May 22nd at Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbor (rain date is May 29).

This year the hole-in-one prizes will be a Vespa S50 Scooter from Stanley Scooters and a 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco from Darling's Chevrolet. The James C. MacLeod Scholarship Fund, being established in Jim's memory at the MDI High School for graduates attending a trade/vocational school, is the beneficiary of this year's charity tournament hosted by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.

This is a scramble format tournament (18 holes) with an 11:30 AM shotgun start and is open to men and women. Registration is $85 per person and includes golf cart, gifts, evening BBQ and prizes. Tournament prizes total $2,200. There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd Gross, 1st and 2nd Net, Ladies 1st Net, and Mixed 1st Net. "A long time Bar Harbor resident, Jim knew everyone," said Cathy Planchart of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. "Jim was an avid golfer and played in this tournament for many years. In addition, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for 37 years, as well as a long-term employee; Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, for 15 years! Jim gave so much to the greater MDI community as a business owner, state legislator, civic club member, and board member and fundraiser for many local non-profit organizations. This scholarship serves as Jim's legacy to the young people of our community."
