Bar Harbor, Maine — – Bar Harbor Bank & Trust invites you to play in the 19th Annual David Harding Memorial Golf Tournament on Tuesday, May 22 at Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbor. Hosted by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, the proceeds from this charity tournament benefit the James C. MacLeod Scholarship Fund, being established in Jim’s memory for graduates of MDI High School.
This charity golf tournament has attracted a broad base of community support. Tournament sponsors to date include R.L. In addition there are over two dozen hole sponsors, and more than a dozen raffle prizes have been donated. This is a scramble format tournament with an 11:30 AM shotgun start and is open to women and men. Registration is $85 per person and includes golf cart, gifts, snack, evening barbeque and prizes. There are prizes for 1st and 2nd Gross, 1st and 2nd Net, Ladies 1st Net, and Mixed 1st Net - $2,200 in total! There are two hole-in-one contests; one for a Vespa S50 Scooter from Stanley Scooters and another for a 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco from Darling’s Chevrolet. In addition, for playing in this year’s tournament, each golfer will receive a camp chair and many other gifts donated by our tournament sponsors. James C. MacLeod, was an avid golfer and a member of the Board of Directors of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for 37 years, as well as a long-term employee; Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, for 15 years. Jim gave so much to the greater MDI community as a business owner, state legislator, member of the Anah Temple Shrine, and board member for many local organizations including the MDI YMCA, Kebo Valley Golf Club, MDI Lions Club, and American Legion’s George Edwin Kirk Post #25 to name a few. Jim was also well-known as a fundraiser for many local organizations, including the MDI Hospital, Jesup Memorial Library, and others. The scholarship will go to a graduating senior from MDI High School who plans to attend a trade/vocational school.
