Community Service

At Bar Harbor Bank & Trust we are committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work.

We are active participants in many community events including Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl for Kids' Sake, Friends of Acadia Roadside Clean-Up, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the Bar Harbor July 4th Parade, the Quietside Parade in Southwest Harbor, the Rockland Lobster Festival Parade, the Multiple Sclerosis Walk, the Make-A-Wish Foundation Walk in Ellsworth, the MDI Half-Marathon, the MDI Marathon, and the Ellsworth Christmas Parade. Some of these events raise significant dollars for worthwhile organizations. Others are simply for fun. Either way, they help build community and that's a big part of what we're about as an organization.

We believe in financial education for youth, and toward that goal our employees visit local school classrooms on Teach Children to Save Day and Get Smart About Credit Day. In April 2006, our employees reached over 300 children with lessons on the benefits of saving.

Each year we host the David Harding Golf tournament, which raises over $2,500 for a local charity. Through months of planning and lots of hard work, our Harding committee puts on a great event year after year.

Keep visiting this page for more details on current community events.
