What is E-Alerts (Messenger)?
E-Alerts is a way to receive account information you need to know, when you need to know it! E-Alerts allows you to set up automated notifications about your account activity.
What can I do with E-Alerts?
Currently, five different "types" of E-Alerts are available, which will tell you when a:
- Check has posted to your account (requires check number, exact amount, and account number)
- Deposit received (checking account)
- Loan payment due
- Loan payment past due
- Low balance (checking account)
How do I sign up for E-Alerts?
To use E-Alerts, you must first be enrolled in Online Direct Internet Banking. Online Banking and E-Alerts are both free services offered by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
How do I set up an E-Alert?
Log into Online Banking and go to the "Summary" or "Accounts List" page. On the right hand side you will see the "Messages" area. Click on "NEW" and a window will open. Select a "type" of E-Alert from the drop down menu on the right. Follow the prompts, fill in the blanks, then select how you want to be notified.
What are the different ways I can receive my E-Alerts?
When prompted for "send to" information, there are three choices:
- Online (a message will appear in the "Messages" area in Online Banking when you log in)
- E-mail
- Text Message
I don't use Mobile Money. Can I still use E-Alerts?
Yes. Anyone enrolled in Online Direct Internet Banking can use E-Alerts.
