Bar Harbor Bank & Trust's new retail branch in Ellsworth is taking shape… on the inside! The interior walls are up, making the floor plan clearly visible. Sheetrock will be installed over the coming weeks. The exposed rafters in the vaulted ceiling in the lobby are beautiful and give the space a very open and welcoming feeling. There are entrances to the building on both the north and south sides. As weather permits, the roof is being shingled, with the front side already completed.
In addition to the Structural Insulated Panels used for the exterior walls and roof, other energy efficient choices are being made for this building. "The partnership with King Electric has been very valuable. They have helped us research alternatives, and worked with Efficiency Maine, as well as their vendors to select energy efficient lighting solutions that meet our needs and the City of Ellsworth's lighting standards," said Steve Leackfeldt.
Construction on the lower level of the Bank's 135 High Street building is continuing at a rapid pace. Located in this level will be the Bank's Customer Service Call Center, meeting and office space, and a fully equipped break room for all of those who work at this facility. A retaining wall is being built along the Washington Street side, allowing for the construction of a sidewalk.
The upper level of 135 High Street which houses Bar Harbor Trust Services, Bar Harbor Financial Services, business bankers and mortgage lending continues to be open for business. Customer parking is located behind the building, marked by large orange directional signs. Customers are to enter through the back doors and take the elevator to the upper level.
The Bank's temporary Ellsworth branch located next to Reny's continues to be open for business with convenient lobby hours, a two-lane drive-thru, and a drive up ATM.
