Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Supports Schoodic Arts For All

Winter Harbor, Maine (March 30, 2019) – (Left to right) Andrew Somes of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is pleased to present a donation to Mike Summerer, Anna Woolf, and Mary Laury of Schoodic Arts for All. This gift will help support 2019 programming for local students on the peninsula.

“Bar Harbor Bank has been a steady Schoodic Arts for All supporter since 1999. These gifts have an accumulated total of $35,000 over 20 years. This kind of dedicated funding makes possible the kind of FREE programming we have for area students,” said Mary Laury, Executive Director of Schoodic Arts for All. “When Schoodic Arts for All thinks of the arts, we think of lifetime skills that are forever. Imagine being 11 years old and given the extraordinary opportunity to do serious work using serious power tools. These lessons and skills are not only for a lifetime of enjoyment in making things, but are also skills that can translate into career opportunities such as a craftsperson or artist.”

One afterschool program offered by Schoodic Arts for All is a woodturning class led by Mike Summerer. There is no cost for students to participate. Mike is a retired physician who lives in Prospect Harbor and enjoys teaching woodturning to adults and youth through Schoodic Arts for All.

Schoodic Arts for All brings together various artists and community members in an arts center providing year-round cultural events and activities which hold value for residents of the community. For more information, visit www.schoodicartsforall.org.
