When Bar Harbor Bank & Trust acquired Lake Sunapee Bank, we vowed to stay true to our commitment to meet our customers’ financial needs by delivering a diverse range of products supported by the exceptional service you would expect from a true community bank. The first step in our journey was to improve fraud prevention tools, product offerings and technological capabilities. We completed this important step last spring when we upgraded and integrated our computer systems.

True to our word, we are still constantly seeking ways to improve the products and services we offer to our customers. Over the last year we have heard feedback from our customers and employees indicating that having two brands, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust and Lake Sunapee Bank, was confusing and inefficient. Employee and customer feedback is important to us as it helps drive the decisions we make. Based on this feedback, and the process improvements it will enable, we have made the decision to operate under one name. On April 30, 2018 we will begin operating as Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in all of the geographic areas we serve.

Our customers work hard every day, and we are passionate about supporting you. We work hard to meet your changing needs, and rebranding our New Hampshire and Vermont offices reflects our commitment to constantly improving for you. This change will allow us to streamline processes and deliver new products and improved offerings to our customers throughout New England more quickly, strengthening our ability to provide you with the best banking experience possible.

Q. Is there an exact date for the name change?

A. Many changes will be ongoing and occur over time. For example, you may notice logo and color scheme changes on certain documents such as statements, forms, or the mobile app. The most visible change will be the update to signage at our New Hampshire and Vermont branches to Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
